Understanding

What Arthritis Is

Osteoarthritis describes wear-related change in the joint surfaces. It is common with age and frequently present in people who feel fine.

Inflammatory arthritis is a different category and is co-managed with your physician. Distinguishing them matters, and the examination looks for the difference.

Aching that tracks with activity level and weather changes

Reduced range in a specific joint

Good days and bad days rather than a steady level

Contributors

What can contribute

Restricted motion in neighboring joints

Reduced muscular support around the joint

Long periods of inactivity

Our approach

How this is evaluated and cared for here

Care follows the examination. Nothing on this page is a treatment recommendation for your case.

Care aims at keeping joints moving and comfortable. Adjusting technique is matched to the joint and to your tolerance, and lower-force options are used where appropriate.

Laser therapy and soft tissue work are used for symptom relief, and referral is made when medical management is indicated.

FAQ

Common Questions

Can chiropractic reverse arthritis?

No. Care targets comfort, motion, and function rather than the structural change itself.

Is adjusting safe with arthritis?

With appropriate technique selection, conservative care is commonly used for arthritic joints. That selection is made after your examination.
