Enzyme Therapy in Grand Junction, CO

Food-based enzyme support, discussed as one part of your overall plan, never as a treatment for a diagnosed disease.

Short answer

Enzyme therapy uses plant-based food enzymes to support digestion. Dr. Younker, a certified Loomis Digestive Health Specialist, reviews your history and diet and discusses whether enzyme support belongs in your plan. It is nutritional support, not a treatment for any diagnosed disease.

How it works

What enzyme therapy is

Enzymes help break food into the smaller pieces the body can absorb. When digestion is working poorly, people often describe bloating after meals, fatigue in the afternoon, or an unsettled stomach with particular foods.

Enzyme therapy pairs specific food enzymes with the meals and foods that seem to give a patient trouble. The aim is simple support for normal digestion while the rest of the plan, including chiropractic care, continues.

Process

How this is handled here

01

History and diet review

You describe what you eat, what you notice afterward, and what has already been ruled out by your physician.

02

Assessment

Where it applies, a 24-hour integrative urinalysis panel is discussed as one way of looking at recurring complaints.

03

A simple plan

If enzyme support is appropriate, you get a short, specific plan and a point at which it gets reviewed.

04

Review

If nothing changes, the plan changes. Support is not continued indefinitely without a reason.

Honest limits

What this is not

Enzyme therapy does not diagnose, treat, or cure disease. New, severe, or worsening digestive symptoms belong with your physician or a gastroenterologist first.

Seek prompt medical care for unexplained weight loss, blood in the stool, persistent vomiting, difficulty swallowing, or severe abdominal pain. Never stop a prescribed medication without talking to the prescriber.

FAQ

Common Questions

Is enzyme therapy safe?

Food enzymes are generally well tolerated, but every plan depends on your history, medications, and other conditions, which is why nothing is recommended before Dr. Younker reviews your case.

Do I have to take supplements forever?

No. Support is reviewed, and it stops when it is no longer useful.

Can I do this without chiropractic care?

Digestive and nutritional consultations are usually discussed as part of care in the office. Call and ask what fits your situation.

Will insurance cover it?

Nutritional consultation and supplement coverage varies widely by plan. Contact your insurer, and call the office with questions about payment.
