How it differs

Gentle, age-appropriate technique

The force used with a child is a fraction of what is used with an adult, for young children, roughly the pressure you would use to test a ripe tomato.

Low-force methods are the norm, and the child is told what will happen before it happens.

Common reasons

Why parents bring children in

Sports-related complaints, backpack and posture concerns, falls, growing-related discomfort, and follow-up after an injury are the usual reasons.

When something outside chiropractic scope shows up in the history or examination, you will be told and referred to your pediatrician.

FAQ

Common Questions

Is chiropractic safe for children?

Technique is matched to the child's age and size, and examination comes first. Anything outside chiropractic scope is referred.

Do parents stay in the room?

Yes. A parent stays with the child throughout.

What claims do you make about childhood conditions?

None beyond what the examination supports. Care addresses musculoskeletal findings; medical conditions belong with your pediatrician.
